What we’ve been getting up to!
At Melanie’s Miles of Hope, we believe that every step, every smile, and every shared moment brings us closer together – and closer to helping those in Yorkshire who are living with cancer. From marathons to music festivals, ice hockey to family fun days, our community continues to amaze us with its spirit, strength & generosity.

Running for hope
Our annual highlight is the Leeds Half Marathon, where every May a sea of Melanie’s Miles of Hope t-shirts come together. In 2023, more than 60 friends and family members joined our founder, Melanie on the iconic route from Headingley, filling the streets with laughter, determination, and hope. Each mile we run celebrates resilience and reminds us of the power of community.
Adventures for a Cause
We don’t stop at the finish line! From scaling the Yorkshire Three Peaks to taking on 10k runs, half marathons and even full marathons, our supporters have gone the distance – quite literally – to raise funds and awareness for those affected by cancer.

Community coming together
It’s not all about running shoes and mountain climbs. We’ve shared joy and laughter at events that bring the community together – from Dad and kids bowling tournaments to family fun days, charity balls, and even a charity ice hockey match.
And who could forget MarshFest, the The Marsh Pub in Pudsey? A fantastic day of live music, great food and good company, all in the name of supporting local families facing cancer.
Every event, every effort, every mile
Each event – big or small – helps us fund support for those who need it the most, while spreading positivity and hope throughout Yorkshire. We couldn’t do it without our incredible community of supporters, volunteers, friends, and families who make Melanies Miles of Hope what it is today.

Together, we’re not just raising money – we’re raising spirits.
We appreciate you being part of our journey. Here’s to the miles still to come!
